A mixture is a mixture of two or more substances when each of them has its own identification and properties. The resulting mixture may be solid, liquid or gaseous. First of all, the mixture can be homogeneous or heterogeneous. A homogeneous mixture has a uniform composition of atoms or molecules while a heterogeneous mixture has a heterogeneous composition throughout the mixture.
